The Reverend Mrs. Silence DoGood is the Pastor of The First Church of God’s Love in the bucolic-farm hamlet of Halo, Pennsylvania. Her insights into the foibles of her congregation and community are revealed in her widely appreciated Letters to The Editor which were first published in her local newspaper the Tellers Gate and then later in the women’s literary journal CleverGirl.

Although she had been writing Letters to the Editor to her local paper The Teller’s Gate for many years, she developed a wider audience when her Letters were carried by the woman’s literary journal CleverGirl; this Journal is a quarterly magazine published in northeast Pennsylvania but distributed as far away as San Francisco, CA.

    The Ironic Chicken is a love story between a virginal woman in her early fifties and a robust divorced man in his late forties. When Ralph knocks on Harriette’s door for the first time, “Harriette and the aroma from her kitchen opened the door.” She was baking a chicken.
